    Friendship

I've always loved having friends. I've always loved keeping up with friendships, staying in touch, and investing in my friends. I never knew there would be a point in my life where I NEEDED friends...not just enjoyed friends. But almost 8 years of marriage and 2 children have brought me to that point.

This marriage is wonderful. My husband is loving, supportive, unselfish (well, that's his desire...the Lord is still working on that one! ) and affectionate. He is EVERYTHING I always wanted in a husband. My girls are the loves of my life. But every woman needs other women too.

This past weekend I got to get away with 3 other women and we just got to be "girls!" We laughed and giggled and did eachother's hair and nails and watched chic flicks. We talked about our struggles, emptied our hearts, and prayed for each other. Just being able to talk nonstop for 2 days was cleansing .(see, aren't you glad you weren't around for that, Steve!) I feel closer to them and I feel like I have somewhere to turn to just TALK about life. That's what I've found I need most.

So thank you, Lord, for my friends. Thank you for my far away friends, and family. Thank you for my awesome husband and daughters. Thank you for your blessings, and thank you for my life.

    Happy Valentine's Day!

Today is Valentine's Day and we currently have over a foot of snow and it is still coming down! School was cancelled today and it is called off already for tomorrow. I love this...we haven't had real snow yet this year and it is so beautiful falling out of the sky and blanketing everything. Unfortunately it is BITTERLY cold out there. Today I went to work (one of the only ones to even try!) and the parking lot was not plowed yet. I trudged through snow in my sneakers and braved the blowing snow...got frozen through and through...but I'd rather be frozen with beautiful snow than frozen without it!

Hannah and Emily had a great time playing outside today. Steve was able to leave work early and come home to be with us. He brought us all candy and rented "The Notebook" for us to watch and snuggle tonight after the girls go to bed. We've seen it before, but it is THE most romantic movie I can ever remember seeing. I can't wait to see it again! We are actually celebrating Valentine's Day Friday night and we'll go to see "Music and Lyrics" and have dinner out. Friends of ours have volunteered to have the girls overnight and we can't wait!

Hope you all have a warm and fuzzy Valentine's Day too!

    Happy 1st Birthday, Hannah!

Paste this link into your browser to see some recent pics of the girls. Surviving the winter blahs!!

Today is Hannah's first spiritual birthday. Last year they did a Valentine's segment in "Big House" (our church's preschool group) where they gave the children an opportunity to accept Christ into their lives and Hannah chose to do that. We've talked a lot about it and she is growing already. We pray for her sister to decide to invite Jesus into her heart too. Tonight Daddy is bringing home a rose for Hannah and cupcakes to eat for dessert to celebrate! It is a birthday party, after all!

Potty update: All is well. Not perfect, but pretty darn good! It's going to be a long road to perfection...or at least to going to Sunday School in underpants!!

    Nevermind.

Nevermind. I so need to not count my chickens before they hatch. Emily just peed though her undies and jammies while playing upstairs. ~sigh~.

    So proud...

I am so proud of my girls today.

Hannah brought home her first Kindergarten report card. She has mastered almost everything...except she mixes up 'b' and 'd.' Honest mistake...we'll keep working on that. The only other thing is her address...I wrote about her practicing it the other day but she is still mixing up the numbers.

Emily has had 100% potty training success today! It is almost bedtime and she has used the potty perfectly all day. She even went a few times on her own without me reminding her to try. And the biggest news of all...she even pooped on the potty! Hallelujah!! I have been so proud of her.

And to top off this great day... it snowed! Like real-cover the ground-we can sled snow! Woo Hoo!!!!!
